Top Products Awards


ABOUT
The Top Products Awards is an annual competition sponsored by Marketingedge Magazine to recognize and reward promotional products for excellence in innovation, quality, attractiveness, value, functionality and decorating techniques.  Results of the competition are published in the February issue of Marketingedge Magazine, as an Edge Gallery feature and buyers guide.


Marketingedge Magazine has readership of approximately 25,000+ across Canada, made up of industry professionals (distributors, agents, suppliers) and non-industry professionals (buyers, marketers, associations, end users).

ELIGIBILITY  *NEW*

From August 1 through September 30, Marketingedge Magazine will be accepting open nominations for top product entries.  Submission is open to any manufacturer, supplier, agent, distributor, buyer or end user.

CATEGORIES

The Top Products Awards will consist of two categories –
Hard Goods and Apparel.


CRITERIA

Product submissions should reflect any or all of the following criteria: Innovation (unique, new, creative, general wow factor), Functionality, Quality, Attractiveness, Value, and Decorating Technique.

Product nominations are not limited to new products.  We want to know what items you think have been a best-fit in 2019, or will be a fantastic fit for campaigns in 2020.

Products that will not make their commercial debut until the new year are eligible for scoring, provided a sample of the product can be provided if required.  All participating judges and marketingedge team members sign confidentiality agreements.

CONTEST PERIOD & DEADLINE

The contest opens August 1, 2019.  Open nominations will be accepted online, closing September 30.

All product nominations will be subject to a preliminary round of screening.  All suppliers of qualifying product submissions will then be contacted and product samples requested for the second round review.

NOTE:  If a requested product sample is not available before October 30 we will have to disqualify that product entry.  Please make sure you will have access to a product sample for the second round screening and scoring.

*Any product samples are to be shipped at the supplier’s expense and will become the property of Marketingedge Magazine for the purposes of this award competition.

**Please note that all judges and Marketingedge Magazine representatives will sign a confidentiality agreement in order to ensure that no details about new products are revealed until winners are notified by the end of December 2019.

SUBMISSIONS AND PAYMENT

Submissions will be accepted online using the available entry form.  There is no cost to nominating a product for this competition.

JUDGING

Marketingedge Magazine selects a panel of judges to score qualified entries.  The judging panel is typically made up of industry professionals (distributors) and non-industry members (buyers, end users).  Judging is typically hosted in south western Ontario.  If you are interested in participating as a judge please contact Kiersty Kelly by email at kkelly@marketingedgemagazine.com

AWARDS

The Top Products Awards winners will be notified by no later than December 31st, 2018, a month prior to the publishing of the February 2020 issue of marketingedge magazine.

Overall Top Product Winner:

The Overall Top Product winner, as determined by the judges panel, will be featured on the front cover of the February 2020 issue of Marketingedge Magazine. Additionally, they will receive a full page, full colour presentation in the Edge Gallery section of the February 2020 issue of Marketingedge Magazine (a $2,495 value).  This includes professional photography of the product accompanied by a detailed write-up.

Top Hard Goods Product Finalist:

The Top Hard Goods product finalist, as determined by the judges panel, will receive a full page, full colour presentation in the Edge Gallery section of the February 2019 issue of marketingedge magazine (a $2,495 value). This includes professional photography of the product accompanied by a detailed product write-up.

Top Apparel Product Finalist:

The Top Apparel Product finalist, as determined by the judges panel, will receive a full page, full colour presentation in the Edge Gallery section of the February 2020 issue of Marketingedge Magazine. This includes professional photography of the product accompanied by a detailed product write-up.

Top Products Honourable Mentions

Additional top scoring products and products of interest will be featured as part of a Top Products Gallery in the February 2020 issue of Marketingedge Magazine.

Suppliers of high scoring and interesting product nominations will have the opportunity to determine the size of their gallery feature, ranging from one-quarter page to full page in size.
